Ottis H. Rechard papers, 1934-1980.

Collection mainly concerns Rechard's interest in higher education and Peripatetic philosophy. It consists mainly of unpublished manuscripts which document his views on Peripatetic philosophy and the growth of higher education in the United States, particularly after World War II. There are also some unpublished manuscripts of Rechard's musings about World War II and the post-war baby boom. Collection also contains a small amount of material regarding Rechard's life and career at the University of Wyoming, which includes correspondence and a manuscript of the program for his memorial service in 1980. There are a small number of miscellaneous clippings and periodicals in the collection as well.

Ottis H. Rechard was a faculty member and administrator at the University of Wyoming during the twentieth century. Rechard was born on January 7, 1896 and earned his Ph.D from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1930. During World War II, he served as head of the University of Wyoming's Department of Mathematics and the university's War Projects Administrator.
